Just saw Hadestown and Merrily on Broadway yesterday
How were they?
The two greatest theatrical experiences of my life in no particular order
I haven't written up my thoughts on Merrily yet but here's what I thought of the cast of Hadestown– there's other amazing aspects too of course but this is the big reason to go see it right now:

Oh wow, that's a pretty eloquent review. Now I wish I'd seen it myself.
I mean Ani's in it for three and a half more months, get up here

Both were by Studio East; the first one was called “What A Knight!” and the second one “Ready Player Wonderland”

Lost my role (Grimsby in The Little Mermaid) to a guy that doesn’t know what beats are. The song he had to sing at callbacks was literally in 2/4 time. He spoke it with his mediocre British accent.

I know how that feels. But I've had it worse– guys who don't know what notes are taking my roles. Granted, I'm a bit full of myself at some auditions, so maybe they're trying to tell me something.

Oof. Musicals are so competitive ;-; But hey, you’re self aware, so that’s good! I just hate that the person I was referring to was so arrogant saying that “Oh, you’re not gonna get the role,” and I ended up getting ensemble for the third time. My casting director is kinda bad lol

It's mostly for Jr shows. When I'm auditioning for shows with adults, I'm not cocky about it. But I expect good roles in kids' shows cause I'm sixteen.
