If a deleted project gets on the explore page before it's deleted, the thumbnail is still visible.

Ok, then support. This could help prevent more and more people from seeing bad things, since the projects take time to go away.

The thing is… some people put project thumbnails as their featured project, so it can be displayed like a “channel thumbnail”. So if this was implemented, it would break that. A solution could be just keeping the project shared, but with a notice that the thumbnail is for their profile page.

Uh? i don't think you understand, what im saying is if a project breaks the ToS and the scratch team bans it because it's inappropriate, the thumbnail should be removed to keep the inappropriate content hidden.

Anybody else find this useful?

The thing is, I dunno how useful this is now. Most bots/bad people doing bad stuff aren't smart enough to use old projects so their project is indexed, so their project won't be on the search, anyways. But maybe once they fix the search glitch it'll be more useful

There still a BUNCH of project that are indexed and have inappropriate/graphic content, and apparently it’s not only in the search that it can be useful, it can happen on profiles too apparently

But a lot of them don't have to. About 960 million projects can be indexed, it's entirely possible that someone could have made an inappropriate project back in 1.0 and only shared it now. It still breaks the rules, and can be indexed. While that example is a stretch, there are plenty of people with projects under 960 million that are unshared. Chances are that some of them are inappropriate.

i've done exactly that before. and many users use that method too.
maybe I don't want my featured project to be some crappy potentially seizure inducing** material I made a year ago to be the featured project

**rest assured - there is a warning, it's the Air buds project if you're curious. it's just random sounds and dog noise with visual filters too.

Ye, my suggestion is that project that are unshared keep there thumbnails, only the one that the scratch team delete/ban
