can somone help me how do i make pixel art?

first, I like to do a sketch that's smoother– digital with a larger canvas, like 500x500, or a sketch on paper that I just took a picture of. then I go on Pixilart and use its tracing feature to trace it (changing around shapes as needed). I also like to make each “pixel” in the final image as a 2x2 square of actual pixels, so I can get smaller details and movements in animation (I'll show an example when I get home)

for multiple characters and items, its also best to have one sprite that you compare sizes to (usually the player character) to make sure you don't accidentally make too-big swords or tiny trees or anything

Here it is! (Character is Mr. Plant from The World of Mr. Plant btw, not my design or anything)

Here's how 2x2 pixels can help you get some more details. I could put patterns all through his petals that wouldn't fit otherwise, and some smoother shading, but looking at it quickly, it's not too noticeable. I could even have the whole head “half” a pixel above the head instead of a whole pixel or right on top!


I was also able to smoothen out the animation, since I could make smaller in-between frames

There is this free and safe website called Pixel art, it is easy to use and everything is free, I suggest it, you can also make gifs with it.

You can use Scratch's bitmap mode or other websites (just like other users mentioned above).
Pixel art is just like every art, but using pixels, so if you need some design tutorials, then search on Scratch or in other place.
