Does anyone know how to make a platformer? I need help. Since last month, I've been working on a new game called Computer Game (yes that's what it's called) and still am. Basically the game is literally a computer. And in the games app, there's a platformer game (I might add more games later). All I've done for the platformer is :
- give it a character that the player controls with the arrow keys (and maybe the WASD keys)
- make platforms for the player to walk/run and jump on
- Gave it music to play when the game begins
- Buttons to press
But what I'm missing is this of the following :
- the number of things (like a variable?) the player collects
- how to make the items disappear when the player collects them
- how to make to the player's character disappear when the character dies
- how to make the game know who is playing
- how to make the player's character go to the next level when it reaches the end of the level (off the screen)
- how to make the character move smoothly and stay on the platform when it's walking/running
- Start the level over when the character dies
- wall jump on a wall
I am missing these because I don't know how to do these things. Reason why I need help to make a platformer is because I've never made a platformer before. So if you know how to make a platformer because you've made one before, please help me make this game. I promise that I'll give you credit if you help! Please be honest when you help me, I don't want to do anything wrong for this special project. Thanks!

Can you share the project, even if it's not done yet? That will help us help you, because we can tinker with the project and build off of the exact systems you have in place, rather than have to reverse-engineer them, which may yield inaccurate or incompatible results.
