Banned Accounts [project download option for permanently banned accounts]
If you are banned there should be some kind of appeal button, but if there is an inappropriate username that individual should get a choice; get banned or change their username.

Not if they were IP banned. If the Scratch Team bans someone's account permanently, they should let the banned user download their projects, so they don't lose all of the work they've put into their projects.I agree that this should be an option as long as they didn't get banned for inappropriate projects, because then they could just sign up with a different email, and re-upload the projects that got them banned.

Still the topic is about downloading projects from a banned account. Not only inappropriate usernames ban but all types of ban.

they could also always download the project, post it, get banned, and then make a new account and repost itIf the Scratch Team bans someone's account permanently, they should let the banned user download their projects, so they don't lose all of the work they've put into their projects.I agree that this should be an option as long as they didn't get banned for inappropriate projects, because then they could just sign up with a different email, and re-upload the projects that got them banned.

If you did something that didn’t deserve you to be completely exiled from the website forever, they will unban you eventually if you appeal. If you did something to the point where you can’t appeal, you deserve to lose your projects. I’ve been banned before and I still uphold this belief.

Semi-Support. Would be useful for people that DID NOT get banned because of a inappropriate project, but someone who did can download their inappropriate project onto another kids site..What other kids site? Is there one that somehow accepts .sb3 files or something? How will they upload a Scratch project onto a completely different platform?

They IP ban you (ip address) which is for your entire internet. So no, not unless it’s new accounts. That ban-evading.

i don't know whether this is relevant or if i'm allowed to talk about it, but i was banned for a long time on another account. recently the ST allowed me to return on this account, keeping the other banned. however when i asked for a download of the projects on my other account they said no (so i lost most of my work from there).
however, a friend of mine who is permanently (and that means permanently) banned was allowed to return to scratch. so is this kind of implemented already?

Support, however they should not be allowed to download any projects taken down by the ST.

Yep The Ban must at least let the user keep their projects to downlaod so they can use their projects for something else and use themcounterintuitive.
the point of a ban is to punish bad behaviour. if they cared about their projects, then they'll atleast feel some degree of consequence.

couldn;t the point of a ban be interpreted as to prevent the user from harming scratch more? in which case the ban shouldn;t stop the user from having access to their projectsYep The Ban must at least let the user keep their projects to downlaod so they can use their projects for something else and use themcounterintuitive.

couldn;t the point of a ban be interpreted as to prevent the user from harming scratch more? in which case the ban shouldn;t stop the user from having access to their projectsin cases of harassment for instance, that is not the site at harm (by terms of semantics), it is a user at the playing field of another, arguing like a broken record player.
the analogy of “stop user from harming scratch” does not stick in those contexts because the two parties are at eachother's necks too much for rationale. that's the case with every day of online harassment or similar nowadays, so i think i'm in the free to throw this stereotype onwards.
interpretations and analogies aside, that point - again - doesn't exactly stick? it's quite clearly not the intention - a ban bars you from all contexts of social action on the site, including project alteration (the actual focus of the site, creating and continuing to create and learn from such) unless you've got backups or similar.
their intention is to make you realize “…wait, what i did was bad. i should stop that”, not go do whatever and be blissfully ignorant because you still have bonus copies everything you've worked on.

Many ISP's don't provide a permanent address or if the user wants, they can either use a proxy or VPN. Or some people have parents that move all the time so they move with them.so if your account is banned forever make a new accout that is unique
