Gen-MG (Sega Genesis Emulator) Development and Updates

Gen-MG is a Sega Genesis and (hopefully) Mega Drive emulator that is currently in development. Inspired by other emulators, (Including but not limited to: DCPU-16's gb.sb2 and GenericHeroGuy's Cool NES emulators) and the reason why I'm making this to see if fourth generation consoles can be emulated to Scratch.

Goals
My goals, in the emulator are to

-Emulate the console's microproccesor and video

-Attempt to emulate the sound on the project

-Emulate the RAM on the emulator

-To make Genesis games run on the project

-To attempt to get Mega Drive games to work on the project

More goals will be added later.

This thread will be used as a discussion area aswell as an area for updates. Expect more coming soon!

Doesn't seem like it's being actively developed anymore, given the lack of account activity from OP

You’ll probably want to start by learning more about the genesis CPU, the Z80.

The Z80 was the secondary processor responsible for sound and backwards compatibility with the Master System. The 68000 was the main processor responsible for everything else.

Turning Scratch Projects into Sega Genesis roms is like trying to turn a fancy new game into punch cards, it's too new software for a too old hardware.

I don't know if turning Scratch games into Sega Genesis/Mega drive ROMS is possible. I've gone to some moderate measures to try and learn assembly to try and make a loose, scaled down version of a game I am working on currently. But I've had no luck as I can't figure out where to even put the code, whether it be a notepad file, or even Unity which I don't have. So I'm really upset. I've even tried resulting to just using Microsoft Makecode just because you can download it on different hardwares, but even then it won't boot on my everdrive (v2). All the different file types are .BIN (.Binary) .SMS | .MD and more.

No sign off here, I don't know how to or what to put.

The Z80 is not the Genesis CPU. It is just used for some sound processing and SMS backwards compatibility. The Genesis CPU is the Motorola 68000, but yeah, if you want your emulator to have sound, you need to know about the Z80 and the YM2612 (the main FM sound processor.)

This would be cool if there were many levels like the actual game, and a boss fight at the end of each world

No it isn't. This is about the game, and I'm suggesting something to add into the game.
