SCRATCH NEWS (temporary name?)

Hey. The way this would work is I would create an account and a studio where we share all this stuff.

I’m thinking we split our news into: film/TV, music, sports, and videogames.

I’m working on a thumbnail template to use for articles. The thumbnail would be a different color depending on the topic being covered (see below) and maybe have a little icon e.g. a ball for sports articles.,

Unless anyone objects:
Movie/TV = Red or blue?
Sports = green
Video games = orange
Music = purple

Each department will have a head of department who will oversee their department (see below for more details)

Movies and TV
Members: boom2ratz, HexagonWorld, AwsomeUser23
Head of department ?

• Reviews for movies
  Most likely AU will be in charge of this and do most of these as he goes to the movies a lot but others can participate. AU will write a review and rate the film with our rating system.
  
• Random news
  Whoever wants to can say here in the forum for example “hey I saw Christopher Nolan is doing a new movie” and write an article about that. These types of articles have no publication dates and will probably be a lot of our releases. Similar to something like Screen Rant (but good)
  
• Monthly updates on the industry
  This will have a name accompanied by the month. This will be a collab by all the members of this department, but will be overseen and curated by the head of the department and myself.
  
• Monthly lists
  We can alternate who makes these. This would be like “top 20 greatest actors alive” or something, we do a different one each month.
  
• End of year award show (collab)
  Our biggest event, we all decide this together, make a grand project, etc.

Music
Members: boom2ratz, -Exelsior-
Head of department: ?

• Album reviews
  I can do most of these since I listen to a lot of new releases but this will be open for anyone to participate as well. It’d work the same as the other reviews, we write our thoughts and then rate it with our rating system.
  
• Random news
  Same thing as before
  
• Monthly updates
  Same thing as before
  
• End of year award show
  Same thing as before

Sports
Members: boom2ratz, -Exelsior-
Head of department: ?
This one is harder for a lot of reasons. I only like football and tennis, which aren’t very popular with American kids (most of Scratch). So we would need someone who watches NBA and NFL at least and knows how to write.

• Olympics
  The Olympics are coming and everyone watches that, so we can all do daily or weekly recaps and such of what’s going on.
  
• End of year award show
  Same thing as before
  
• Super Bowl Coverage
  Self-explanatory
  
• NBA Finals Coverage
  Self-explanatory
  
• Random news
  Same as before

Video Games
Members:
Head of department: ?
We need people who play videogames ASAP.

• Game reviews
  Review and rating
  
• End of year award show
  Same as before. This is gonna be hard.
  
• Random news
  Same as before

To do (in order of priority)

• Figure out a name for this - suggestions needed
  
• Find more members - sign-ups?
  
• Figure out a name for the film/TV category because film/TV is a bit cluttered and weird
  
• Make the thumbnail template - me
  
• Figure out a rating system
  
• Make a studio and the account - me
  
• Figure out members and heads of departments
  
• Figure out a name for those monthly update issues
  
• Start writing!

Also when I say I’m gonna run the account, don’t worry, people writing their article can make the project and stuff (with the template), and then I’ll just backpack it.

It's good, although we should cut out sports and video games.

Also another idea I have is we give people an idea of what to expect in the movies, like Common Sense Media and IMDB’s Parents Guide. Example:

Deadpool - Bloody Violence, strong language and adult humor, and inappropriate situations

I can do a search for the worst movie. One article a month.

I’m going to see Challengers at my local theater on Friday, so I can probably do a review for that. One request, could the review be the main attraction of the Movies and TV department?

I mean there's no guarantee what's going to be the main attraction but I guess we could strongly market it. I think the lists could perhaps get a bit more traction (and obviously the award show) but we'll see. Also AU do u wanna join the music department as well? You could help a lot since I mostly listen to hip-hop (not that I'm not willing to listen to other genres).

I'll help with movies, music, and sports. I don't watch a ton of recent movies in theaters tho but I still know a decent amount.
For music, I have an article about some underrated recent artists for fans of rock/alternative. Theres a few artists I listen to that make amazing music that I could totally see being hits in the 80s and 90s but they don't get many listeners on streaming platforms. idk exactly how to title the article tho
Also for sports, I'm not super into watching pro sports(but I still keep pretty up to date so I can definitely write some articles

If Bill Wurtz decides to start posting videos again, I can be helpful for music in that one specific area.
