I believe that the phrase “Grammar Nazi” shouldn't be allowed here on Scratch.
Although I see why this would be considered witty, people need to understand that the word “Nazi” is not one you joke about and throw around.
I can't discuss here what the Nazis did, but referring to yourself or others as one of them is not acceptable in my opinion for a children's site.

Are occurrences of it report-able?

I don't know. You should put the question on the Scratch Welcoming Comitee site

No, it is not reportable. It does not break the community guidelines.
When I call myself a grammar nazi, I am not calling myself a German Soldier out to rid the world of “inferior races.” I am calling myself someone who likes to strictly enforce grammar.
I've never even seen someone have a problem with it… until now.
There is nothing wrong with enforcing proper grammar usage.

I'm not entirely sure if that term should be reportable, but I see your point.

I've never even seen that phrase used in Scratch until now, so until it becomes more of a problem, there's no need to do anything about it.

I've never heard of it so it isn't really popular. Yes, your point is valid but the internet is a little different to the real world (even though a lot of things are similar).

Your image doesn't work. Also, I hope it's suitable.

The term ‘Grammar Nazi’ doesn't really refer to the ones you had back in WWII. ‘Nazis’ were an army, and the word doesn't refer to anything they did. You could call me a ‘Grammar Samurai’. Samurais were not nice, neither were the Nazis, but when we say ‘Samurai’, we don't think of any of the awful things they did. It's the same with Nazi.

Sorry if you disagree with me on this, but the term Nazi is not one to be used to refer to yourself or others.
Have you guys ever taken a WWII class? Then you should know.

I have taken a WWII class. Nazi was an army. Samurai was an army. Both brutally killed. As long as you don't make references to what the Nazis did or anything, it's fine.

But close relatives of people killed by the Nazis are still around today, and referring to yourself as one of the political party that murdered millions of people is just not fit for a kid's website.

LET ME CLARIFY TO EVERYONE IN THIS THREAD: While the Nazis were an army, they were also a political party that set up camps all over Europe to kill millions of Jews and others. My point is referring to yourself as affiliated or a version of them is simply not acceptable for a kid's website.

Taking all opinions out of this, unless it actually refers to anything the Nazis did, it is not reportable. There is no dispute about this. You could ask the ST to ban it if you're worried but as far as the ST has said, it's not to be reported.

Could you please reference where they said it's not reportable?

As for your first point, the term “Nazi” is almost a connotation for all the horrible things they did. You're right, from a robot's mind, saying the word “Nazi” is not reportable, but from a human's mind, where every word triggers up emotions and feelings, that term is reportable.

You see, saying you're a “Grammar Nazi” is like saying you're a member of the “Grammar ISIS”.
I'm going to ping a ST member to give their input.

ISIS could refer to the Egyptian goddess, and even if it did refer to the terrorist group, it's not explicitly forbidden
As weird as this sounds, the ST do not see every single bit of content posted, and bots are programmed to ban what the programmers think is wrong. Our perspectives are different.

The ISIS part was an example. For future reference, in all caps it means the terrorist group.
You are right, we do have different perspectives. You think from the point of view that if you don't say what they did, it's OK, and I think from the point of view that saying the word triggers the thought of what they do.

Exactly. This is why certain things are not reportable that some people think really should be. Everyone's views of what is and isn't OK to say is different. The ST clearly don't think these things are worth banning someone for. ‘Nazi’ and ‘ISIS’ don't necessarily have to be used in a humorous way, which is why words like these tend not to be banned/

I'm pretty sure it's not even called ISIS anymore. I thought they changed it to ISIL.
