A game where you have to stare into a mirror for long

make a game where the brother of the protagonist is suddenly missing after you hear a scream from them. you go to the place where you heard the scream from - the bathroom. once you go into the bathroom, you see a blood splatter on the ground, and stare into the mirror to see a demonic silhouette in the reflection, and you turn away from the mirror to see that the demonic reflection is in real life, it jumpscares you and youre pulled into a abnormal world with monsters, demons and any kind of scary folktale creatures you can think of. you find a stick on the ground to arm yourself, and you have to navigate yourself through this hellish lanscape to find your brother. the player then has to solve various puzzles around the map to find clues for his brother, all while fending off the demonic creatures. he also finds various people that have been pulled into this plane and find out that the demonic creature that pulled you in is holding your brother hostage; after you solve the final puzzle a boss fight will ensue and youll kill the demon, escaping hell with your brother, as well as saving the other people. thought of this in 5 minutes

Since jumpscares aren't allowed, how about you make a game that intends to make the player feel uneasy? Like something like the backrooms (without the entities!) where there are wide open spaces that SHOULD have people, but they just don't, maybe at the start of the game the player walks through areas FILLED with people to have a more stark contrast with the loneliness of the later part of the game.

For the plot, have it be that you walk into the building that you work at, and once you go too far, it's endless. There's no going back, I think that would create an effective horror game without any real scares.

What about my game I've been spending weeks making but it's not ready to publish and it's a poppy playtime rip off called Soggy Doggy. And i spent most of it on the main menu and the starting cutscene and it will soon be published, hopefully.

I think the issue with horror and Scratch is the risk that your project could get taken down, or worse, you get banned. Which really isn't great because sometimes people put a lot of effort into projects, and if it happens to be horror, it gets taken down.

As for suggestions, probably something leaning towards psychological horror would be better, mainly because the young kids Scratch is worried about giving nightmares too may not understand it. Also, there's no reliance on jumpscares, so that's not as much of a worry. Issue is that it's hard to pull off.

Also, I highly recommend putting a warning IN the project if you're going to make a horror game. Not in the notes and credits, not in the instructions, in the project. This is so it HAS to be seen before playing, which lets the players know that the game might be scary.

Perhaps you can put in a little cosmic horror in it, like a vengeful cosmic god like Cthulu?

Jumpscares are good to either get the player to keep playing or to delete Scratch immediately. You can do a mini jumpscare. Also, horror games typically take place in the dark, so maybe you could switch things up and have it take place in the light?
