A Little Help Please :3

Hello y'all's! I'm going to get straight to the point. My SB3 file is apparently “too big” for scratch, even though it's less than 50 MB (it's 41.19 Megabytes large). It might be a problem with my Chromebook which would make sense, but honestly I don't know why it doesn't work.

If anyone knows anything of why I might also not be able to put the file into scratch then please tell me

Hmm. This would probably fit better in advanced topics but my guess is that when ported into scratch and it actually decompiles it is much bigger than 41.19 MB. When you export a project I'm pretty sure it compiles the project into a smaller file so it doesn't clog up computer space and when you load it back in it is too big. I also have a chromebook so that's why I somewhat know this problem.

Hope this helps!

Thanks, this slightly helps, do you know a way I can check the full file size however?

Not sure lol. Idk how sb3 compiling works. Sorry.

The 50 MB project limit was for Scratch 2.
Scratch is currently version 3 and this limit no longer applies. instead there is a per-asset (sound, costume) limit of 10 MB, and a limit on project.json (the file that stores the scripts and other necessary data of a project) of 5 MB.

If you want to check what is over the limit, you can unzip the project. An sb3 file is actually a zip file with a different file extension. Any file archiver tool should be able to open or extract it.
