Hello! I love the studio idea. Could I help out?
hi
we're pretty much done now so we're not looking for any new people to help plan the studio, but you're welcome to offer feedback on the description if you have any! https://scratch.mit.edu/studios/34752812

when we're sure everyone is happy with the description we can start translations btw

and also maybe propose it! (once it has some activity)
I had someone reach out on the Japanese translation, though I'm not entirely sure how well it'll work, because they can't speak English well, so i'll probably use my little knowledge of Japanese to translate it roughly and they can make corrections, if that's okay with you guys. I can't check the desc rn, but i'll give you my feedback when I read it ^^

also because there are people who prefer saying they’re autistic, people who prefer saying they have autism, and people who prefer saying they’re on the autism spectrum, it’s also potentially more inclusive to have all three in the paragraph.
and also in like, standard good writing, you’re supposed to vary phrasing if you say the same thing essentially multiple times, it makes it easier to read, so there’s another potential benefit of including the different terms.
but if someone here is adamant about only using identify first language i’m cool with that too.

Oo, thanks for catching that. here:

Welcome to the Autism Acceptance\Awareness Studio! (We can change this if we decide on something
else, also should I add a 2024 here?) With this studio we hope to explain about misconceptions about
autism, raise support and awareness, and help people understand people with Autism\Autistic people better. You don't
have to be Autistic to join, and feel free to ask the managers questions!

some thoughts:
this sentence sounds a bit clunky to me - “…and help people understand people with autism better.” maybe have it be “and help people understand those with autism better.” so we still use the same language but it flows better.
other than that, I think it's really great! I like that the credits aren't dead last, cause people often skip the credits but since there's still stuff before them it's harder to do so. it's easy to understand and clear.

Ur right, it does sound kinda weird, however Soki mentioned that I should do both people with autism and autistic people, so how do you feel about that instead?

if it sounds clunky, you can go ahead and switch it to identity-first. or use the word “those” as sawyer suggested

it's all good
are you still interested in writing a second paragraph for the bit about what autism is? I don't know how it might work as the description is very close to being full but we can find a way to fit it in if you want to :D
also you can do profile pictures any time throughout the month

I've noticed in the studio description it doesn't mention anywhere about not adding puzzle piece/light it up blue projects. I tried to copy paste what's written about that in last year's studio but there isn't enough space in the description.
what do we think about maybe leaving it out and just educating people on it individually where needed, but changing it to add it as a rule if we find it becomes too much work? it could be chaotic but also might be cool to see if people manage learning to use the infinity symbol and red on their own, if that's what we tell them if they ask for their project to be added, and if that's what we keep the studio's projects to anyway.

i havent seen the desc yet so.. yeah and also btq what do i do as a manager? (sorry i havent been on a lot, been busy)

- invite people (starting out we can invite people from other popular autism studios/spaces and once the studio is active or gets featured we invite people who either fill in the form or who ask for their project to be added)

- remove unrelated projects

- report any ad comments and spam (if the studio gets featured)

- report any disrespectful comments and trolls (along with the obvious stuff, this can also include people wanting to have a “civil discussion” then blatantly stating their ableist opinions, as this does often get out of hand and can be very upsetting if you keep replying to eachother)

- respond to questions, and reply to curator forms when you've invited someone so other managers know they don't need inviting

- enjoy yourself and take it as an opportunity to say hi to new people and check out cool projects

you can do as much or as little of any of these things as you like
