I would assume “connected” means you're on the site, or you have notifications enabled

This sounds like a good idea. If there would be an option to turn this on and off, that would be great.
I have a question, though. How exactly would a person access the setting, if this was implemented? How would people be informed of the option?

A great way to improve this suggestion would be personalisation. Of course, Scratch is not all about messaging, but I think it would be a good idea to be able to change the sound of the beep. For example, a short melody might be nice. A ding or a buzzer might be appealing to some people.

Perhaps there could be a poll about which sounds are most popular. A random selection of people who are interested in this suggestion could say which sounds they like, and share a project with the sound they like. The sound could be hidden in a project of theirs. The selection of people will be anonymous, so as to prevent any hate towards them should anyone dislike the sounds they chose.

People could record their own sounds to use, if they like, or use the ones that the selection of people chose. You can be the decider of which ones are worthy of being the options.

Oh, I said something similar to that. Do you remember when I said

You should change the title to ‘option for a beep if we have a notification’ because people keep misreading it and saying no support.
