"no quote reply jumpscare"

One time, I saw a user post “no quote reply jumpscare”. I don't understand what this means. Is it just telling the person to remember to quote?

I'm searching for a kid-friendly name for the genre of ‘bear mascot spooky’ games.

yeah, i think it means when you reply to someone's post without quoting. ive mainly seen new scratchers unfamiliar with the forums do this
