Choosing Co's

All co-leaders have been chosen; hence this step will not be necessary this session.

Cabin Tasks

Once you begin planning ensure that you complete your tasks:

- Hopefully your leaders have told you about have we are going to represent the hogwarts houses, each (src) house will be given a hogwarts house, and you will be using this house to base yours around. So first off:

- Decide on your cabin genre: base it off of your house, like hufflepuff: contemporary, comedy; ravenclaw: mythology, hi-fi, mystery ect.

- Decide your cabin storyline: Brainstorm a cabin storyline with your co-leader(s) before December 10th. The storyline should be a special way to engage your campers with your cabin and its theme. Be creative!

- Decide on cabin colours and a mascot (if you want) remember the house your (src) house is based on!

- Make your cabin: Create a studio for your cabin, including the storyline, thumbnail, description, in-cabin activities, and currency. You can also create a separate studio for counting and keeping track of pages, but it's not necessary. This must be done by December 10th.

- Invite your campers: Once the camper lists are shared, invite and introduce your campers to your cabin and studio. Send them a message explaining a brief summary of SRC and your cabin by July 31st.

Rules

- Avoid causing or participating in fights.
- If a fight occurs, do not engage in it. Instead, inform a host through a private message, and they will handle the situation. In extreme cases, the hosts may decide to close the forum.
- Refrain from engaging in unnecessary chats.
- If you have any questions, you can ask them in this forum or on one of the host's profiles.
- Please note to snip large posts instead of quoting them to avoid clotting up the forum!

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is SRC?
A: SRC stands for Scratch Reading Camp. It is a fully on-scratch camp where you read to earn points for your cabin. Each day, there will be a new daily activity posted in the Main Cabin that gives you the opportunity to earn even more points. In addition to the daily activities, there will also be weekly tasks, a book list, an activity generator, and discussion questions. Please note that this session runs on UTC, so the timing may be different depending on your time zone. If you have any questions, feel free to ask the hosts on their profiles. Additionally, this session's theme are deers <3

Q: What counts as pages?
A: Novels, books, graphic novels, and reading material in general, including their writing and newspapers.

Q: What does not count as pages?
A: Dictionaries, board signs, sheet music, and text messages.

Q: What should I do if a camper adds a suspicious amount of pages that they haven't actually read?
A: Ask them for the names of the books they read. If it still seems suspicious, ask them to summarize what happened in the pages they read. If their response is still suspicious or they refuse to cooperate, you can choose not to add their pages or contact a host for guidance. Remember to treat everyone equally and avoid causing conflicts.

Q: Do I have to create a promotional project for SRC?
A: Creating a promotional project is optional but appreciated. It can help attract more participants to join the camp.

Q: Should I create matching profile pictures for my cabin?
A: Creating matching profile pictures for your cabin is optional but recommended. It can help motivate your campers.

Q: Should I give out prizes?
A: Giving out prizes is also optional but recommended. It can provide motivation for your campers to complete more activities and read more. Consider offering prizes such as art requests when they achieve their page goals.

Q: What if I need to take a hiatus?
A: If you need to take a hiatus during the session, please inform the hosts in advance and notify your co-leader/leader. If a leader is taking a hiatus, remember to change the studio host to your co-leader. If a leader becomes inactive during the session, contact a host to discuss options, such as creating a new studio for your cabin or transferring the host role to you.

Note

A reminder that irl life > SRC, so don't feel the need to check in everyday. Have frequent breaks, have a healthy sleep schedule and take care of yourself <3 In the event that you may go inactive, I would request you to inform the hosts in advance so we can figure out alternatives. If you have any questions, launch them right away! I'm positive this session will be a blast.

hello all! this session's memory keeper construction is starts ‘right here right now, i’ll put the offer out' on this canva project (<< you can trust it, i'm not rickrolling you just yet :eyes: ).

so far i know maia has offered to help, and i would be grateful to have more of you coming in as well! ideally we have one (co)leader from each house to represent their pride <3 ‘i don’t wanna chase you down'. if neither leaders can contribute, just tell me and i'll be glad to help!
