Hogwarts: A Guide to Transfiguration

Dear readers,
This is the official standard Hogwarts textbook for the classroom of Transfiguration. As you read this and learn, you'll be able to transfigure, conjure, vanish, and untransfigure objects. The spells and lessons demonstrated here can be dangerous without proper practice, supervision, and can have some terrible results if done incorrectly.

((Out of character note: Please be aware that these lessons are no canon to the Harry Potter lore, there may be bits and pieces of canon information, but it'll mostly be canon only to the Hogwarts Roleplay studio I have created.))

Year 1

Lesson 1 - Basics of Transfiguration

There are four main branches of Transfiguration that you are to know about if you wish to successfully learn the magic behind Transfiguration.
1. Transfiguration: The ability to change the physical appearance and properties of an object or even a living being.
2. Conjuration: The ability to summon or create something into existence from out of nowhere.
3. Vanishment: The ability to vanish objects from existence completely.
4. Untransfiguration: The ability to revert transfigured objects and beings back to their original form.

Transfiguration is all about manipulating atoms. So if you're trying to transfigure something into something else, you'll manipulate the atoms of the item in question to change its shape and properties into something else.
Transfiguration can get even more complicated than that though, for example, you'd be able to transform a human into a bird, but you are unable to transform paper into a bird(without extra charms). Transfiguring entire living beings from inanimate objects is too complex, therefore, all attempts do such things have failed so far.
Conjuration is also about creating atoms from absolutely nothing. Conjuration by far takes the most concentration and is the most difficult branch of transfiguration. There are a few rules to conjuration.
One, you cannot under any circumstances conjure food.
Two, you are unable to conjure living beings as they are too complex to properly replicate.
Vanishment is about destroying atoms to get rid of an object. DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES ATTEMPT TO USE ON A FELLOW WITCH, WIZARD, MUGGLE, OR MAGICAL BEAST. YOU CAN AND WILL BE TRIED AND SENT TO AZKABAN IF YOU HAVE BEEN DEEMED GUILTY BY THE MINISTRY OF MAGIC.
Untransfiguration is by far the easiest branch of Transfiguration, you're manipulating atoms back into their original form.

Lesson 2 - Untransfiguration

In today's lesson, we'll be going over Untransfiguration in more complex detail as well as learn the standard Untransfiguration spell. Untransfiguration is considered the easiest branch of Transfiguration because you're changing something that's already been changed, it's easier to undo something than to transfigure something. Untransfiguration has controversy and some people don't consider it a real branch of Transfiguration, it's being debated on to this day. There is actually the argument that the branch of Untransfiguration should be considered as regular Transfiguration because you're still out of technicality changing atoms(more information on that later), as of right now though, Untransfiguration is considered a branch of Transfiguration.

Reparifarge(Re-PAR-i-far) is considered the standard Untransfiguration spell, it undoes a lot of transfigurations. The spell and wand movement is actually extremely simple. You simply move your wand in a big ‘U’ while saying the incantation, and that's how the spell is cast. A yellow light will come out of your wand, reverting anything you aim it at to its normal form. If this spell is used on a conjured item, living being, or a normal item, absolutely nothing will happen.
