That's how Scratch Cat was made; this doesn't answer the question of Scratch Cat's canon life.

scratch cat lore

Here's some that not many people know. It's been hidden from the Scratch public for years, but I uncovered it from their high-security classified files storage room on an espionage mission.
Development Log
Date: [Data removed, seems to be late 2006-early 2007]
The Scratch Cat (subject 13-C) has been contained in the white void “stage” after attempting to escape the facility with genetically mutated frog Gobo (subject 12-W). Reports from scientific experts say the Scratch Cat may be disgruntled over being genetically modified to stand on its hind legs. Containment officers do not plan to free the Scratch Cat at any times except when the official Scratch web site is down for maintenance. Gobo has been contained in the high-security “sprites” prison, along with genetically mutated mouse Pico (subject 13-Q) who attempted to short-circuit the servers. No misbehavior has been reported from other genetic mutation test subjects.
I wasn't able to grab any more information. They almost caught me.

where did you find that? anyways, you should try doing gene sequencing on scratch cat, maybe they hid something in the binary?
new question: what is Scratch Cat made of? someone get out the microscope!
