i accendentley deleted my friend project and cant get it back

one time i forgot to save… and it didn't give me a notification saying that my progress will be lost if i closed the tab! i stopped working on my project after this happened. This feature would help a lot of people who make dumb mistakes like me

Support! This could really help if you lose a sprite and it’s gone forever. But one problem: doesn’t this cause lag in the server’s memory storage?

Extremely useful because it can restore project from it full state if you accidentally delete or modify it. But as everyone said its a big load for the server to have a copy of the project. Ive seen this feature on an online code editor.

If you have the project link then you can copy the project

You can't, unfortunately

This topic is suggesting to implement a feature to revert back to projects, but you would still need to save the versions to begin with

Oh yeah, I don't think I left my support here, so I support if it only stores the changes made to each script (or maybe costume). I think this is also what Git does?

I support, but I do have a “potential” solution to having to store versions. Let's say you have a project, like say, @kkdoggy101's Dr. Steve's Pizza Tower Challenge Project. That one has a big history. They could locally store the 1st 3-ish versions on the device, the next few on the Scratch servers, and the rest in the Cloud. The Cloud has a potentially infinite amount of space, so that could work. I used the example project instead of something like a Scralaxy Team game because updates are done via remixes.
