Scratch Ranked Contest System(SRCS)
Scratch is not about FamE. It's to help younger viewers understand how to code. Or just any type of user. I can understand how you think the contest will make it so people work harder. But, I still don't understand why we would…want this. How would you sign up for the competition, where would it be located, what are the requirements to be in this competition, what type of projects would it except? How would you get the message that you won or lost? And, if somebody loses, they might get mad and decide not to do Scratch anymore. Or, somebody could just screenshot the message that says:
YOU WIN! Or they would just brag that they beat somebody else. Scratch is not a competition.

I feel like you can just, make a contest yourself. Or join one with a bracket, which, I don't think is against the TOS. A competition made by ST seems like they promote the competitions. Like with F4F, they do not promote it, but do not forbid it.

I know. contests are allowed as long as they aren't follow rewarded (most scratchers don't know ask a veteran if its true they will say yes) I feel like you can just, make a contest yourself. Scratch has never been about competition - you don't see contests put on by the Scratch Team. The reason is that Scratch is primarily intended as a learning language to be used by programming beginners. The joy of creation and learning while having fun with your friends provides a lot of incentive to learn Scratch without formal competition. I suspect that this will continue.
One area where competition is currently incorporated on Scratch is “the trend” and a couple of the homepage rows. We have seen how too much focus on these areas can negatively affect the community - further reinforcement of the above.
