by implying scratch has meaning something to me you imply that scratch has some secondary interpretation dependendent on the person who is considerign scratch, despite this scratch is like most things meaningless, although i would like to submit that we can derive meaning from meaningless things, despite this asking others the way they are interpret stuff is not a good use for the suggestions forum

Scratch refers to how DJs scratch music to make remixes, kinda like remixing Scratch projects . The name is the epitome of collaborative nature
