Mostly yes: there are occasionally very short automatic bans for mass-reported projects, as far as I know they only lasts for like 90 mintues.

You will never be automatically banned just for being muted a certain number of times. The Scratch Team may manually ban you if they see you are repeatedly posting comments that are not ok for Scratch (they can see when you were muted and what comments got you muted), but there isn't a set number of how many times it would take. It depends on how bad the comments were and how frequent they were, among other things.

This is only to make sure that the Scratcher isn't sharing highly inappropriate projects repeatedly as some have in the past. This is just to give the ST some time to perma-ban the user if needed, or just make sure the project was just false-reported.

I've heard from another scratcher that at 15 mutes is when to really worry about your account.

Depends on what they are. They aren't always truely valid, and only ST can severely ban someone.

These are also really, really rare, to the point most Scratchers will never experience them.

No amount of mutes can get you banned; the Scratch Team decides that.

If it's something like a false positive, the ST will not put you under their radar. However, if you said a REALLY bad word or something, then, they might raise an eyebrow at your comment.

How does the Scratch team know what bad words are used?

When you get muted, it shows the message you were trying to send to the Scratch Team.

If you bypass the filter and use those words anyway, someone will probably come and report the comment with the bad word, and the Scratch Team would see it.

I think there was a typo, I understood it as “When you get muted, the message you tried to post was sent to the Scratch Team for review”

And no, not all of them are filtered. If you post something bad, there is a filter bot that can mute you from 5 minutes to even 12 hours or so, depending on how many mutes you've gotten. Every time you get muted, as someone said earlier, it will get sent to the scratch team AFTER the filterbot flags it as bad. They can decide whether or not to ban you. If you bypass the filter, it can still be sent to the Scratch Team if someone reports it.
