Ban
Hello all. I was recently banned for 4 days on my main account. I was wondering if any of you knew the reason why? So, two reports said that I had an exact copy of a project, but it was a tier list, and I changed it. On top of that, I also gave credits. So I feel these two reports aren't reasonable. Another two were me advertising, which I have read the guidelines many times, and I have not seen anything about advertising. If this is against the guidelines, is there a certain extent of advertising which is allowed? If a ST member responds to this, that would be amazing. I also promised ST I would never do this again, and I am sincerely for my actions, if they were against the Guidelines. I am sorry if I sound harsh, I just feel like many people have been victims of fake reports, leading to bans, and in my opinion, I am one of those victims. Please correct me if I am wrong. Thank you! Also, is there a way to post pictures? Does the URL picture feature works? I don't want to try because it can give personal info if it doesn't work. Thank you guys all for reading this.

to post pictures, use cubeupload
While theres no exact rule stating advertising isn't allowed, it is most commonly considered spam and thus not allowed. If you've already received multiple warnings and kept doing it, it does indeed warrant a ban.

Ask the Scratch TeamI have asked ST. A question though, maybe I didn't understand ban evasion earlier correctly. I thought it was only if you were permanently banned and used an alternative account, or if you got IP banned, and you just used a VPN or something. I had no idea that temporary bans also applied to this. I am sorry, but I also just needed a way to contact ST.
Also, don't ban evade.

cubeuploadDo you know about the other thing though? The exact copy project? Because, I gave credits, and changed the main component, which is the tier list items, so I was just a little confused on how that is an exact copy. to post pictures, use

was it a warning or a takedown? If it was a takedown, it might've been mass reporting. Otherwise, ask the ST in your appeal/with contact uscubeuploadDo you know about the other thing though? Well, there was one warning, then another warning, but I couldn't reshare it on the second warning. Another thing was that the original tier lister (I won't say any names) also threatened to get it taken down, after he saw that my opinions were different from his. I even gave credits after one warning, since it said to, but even after credits I guess, it still got taken down, which was another thing leading to the ban.

I understand this, and have read that wiki page, but I feel that in my case, this really was not a true report. I have reasons why. So, when I first realeased the project that was taken down for “exact copy,” the original owner didn't like my opinions, and even told me that he would report me, even though I did nothing wrong. I believe that this project was a big part in the ban. I got one warning at first, and even did what the warning said, but then, another warning came, and I couldn't re-share the project. Another thing was, the advertising. I have read the guidelines many. many times, and I haven't seen anything about advertising being allowed. Maybe I am wrong though? It could classify as spam, but I thought spam was just posting the same comment over, and over, and over, and over, and over and over again? I had many different comments, just with same theme, to try and get people to see my animation. Since you are a member of the wiki, do you have any info on if there is a certain extent of advertising allowed? Once again, if I did break the rules, I am sincerely sorry, and I promise to never do this again, since Scratch and the community just brings me so much joy in my life.Bans due to false reporting are less common and less severe than many people think. Bans due to mass reporting are very short and the Scratch Team still reviews all reports, removing any incorrect bans.

Firstly, report them for threatening you. Secondly, tell them in Well, there was one warning, then another warning, but I couldn't reshare it on the second warning. Ok. I will if they respond, since I don't want to break any more rules, since you aren't supposed to contact them many times. The person that threatened to report me was already banned, since he actually was really mean to people that he wasn't friends with or had other opinions. I eventually became on good terms with him, but maybe now I realize just what he did… Scratch is basically my life lol… And now I can't use it for four days. And right when I just released my first animation too…Firstly, report them for threatening you. Secondly, tell them in Well, there was one warning, then another warning, but I couldn't reshare it on the second warning. Got it. Thank you very much for all the info. I don't want to get charged with ban evasion, so you are correct. I probably needed a break from scratch, anyways. ok so now all you should do is appeal and in the meantime stay off of scratch on alts.

2. The Scratch Team has many reports; try giving it some time and read this.
3. To be able to re-share the project, you can try using Contact Us.
4. You can advertise your project in Show and Tell, Add Everything studios and/or other spaces that say you're allowed to advertise, and your signature.

Yes, and I have tried all those things, but really it gave me results that were not good at all. I didn't advertise in places that said not to, only once because I forgot to read. I thought you were a wiki member because I mixed you up with someone else, so sorry. I am not mad about the project not being allowed to be re-shared without contact-us, I just feel not happy that somebody 1. threatened to report me because he didn't like my opinions and 2. After one warning, I followed everything it told me to do, and I still got another warning.1. I'm not a Wiki member. Please don’t bump topics unless it has been more than 24 hours or it goes off the first page. If your question has not been answered, could you clarify what you are still wondering? Bump
Keep in mind that the Scratch Team does not answer questions about bans on forums and that if you are currently banned, you are ban evading by using another account. Ban evading will cause the Scratch Team to extend the duration of your ban and they might even permanently delete your alts. I recommend logging out and waiting for your main account to become unbanned.
