can anyone explain why

This probably only applies if you have changed your project's name, replacing the old name.

Also I'm pretty sure the recent page randomly selects projects.

I remember back then your project would immediately show up on the recent page but now the projects seem to be randomized now and you don't see your project immediately anymore. This is what a school friend used to tell me.
