if its a battle you can screenshot “YOU WIN!” when you beat a popular scratcher
if you don't get the results it's not a contest anymore
and hiding the ranks is not very transparent
the ranks arent important mod info
so they shouldn't be hidden, right?

He wants it to be hidden so other people don't brag about their have higher rank than you, or bully others about it.
(still don't get how any of this would work and why it would be beneficial)

So if you win you get matched with a higher ranked scratcher, and if you lose then nothing changes? I feel like this would be good practice for people to become better at coding

This just unnecessarily gamifies scratch, having any sort of ranked feature might lead some to aimlessly grind over a programming site.
