I'm my favorite person that happens to also be a music artist so I can relate
I think it's realistic to say that most people like themselves
Even people that say they don't like themselves really just want the best for themselves and if you wanted the best for somebody else that implies that you really really like them

Lots of Pokemon games have amazing music
Koji Kondo, Lena Raine, and Toby Fox are the best game composers by far

Eh not the worst take ever
Gives off “doesn't listen to that much stuff” vibes
But Jack Stauber writes generally good music most of the time
Even a handful of great songs once in a while

As someone that admitedly has very random and niche tastes in regards to VGMs, I'm curious about what do you think of the Thunder Force series, since it always comes on top of my head when thinking about my favorites.
Also telling you in advance, don't bother with the first one (ancient ahh game) nor VI (Sega's awful attempt at making their very own entry).

I read through some of the last set of comments on this thread, and it seem like this thread has started to do a deep dive into unnecessary criticism about musical tastes and such. Notably in question is the large amount of recent derailing comments I had to remove, which stemmed from an unnecessary attack against a group that is marginalized, which is not okay. This thread is to talk about music you are listening to, not music that you hate or being nitpicky about musical tastes. And overall, talking about stuff you hate or being nitpicky about what others enjoy is not in the spirit of what the Things I'm Reading and Playing forum space is for.

Much like with the Pokemon thread months ago, this thread has gotten to the point of being a closed bubble where only certain people keep posting in it to the point where it's not an inviting space for new people to jump in and join the discussion. And so perhaps it's best that this thread be closed outright or go on a longer break than normal.
