Support for reasons that Scratch became purple.

Even if colorblindness or low vision doesn't affect you personally, it's a real issue that causes trouble for many people. Have some sympathy for them and understand that these changes will greatly benefit them, the least you can do is sacrifice a small aesthetic thing for them.

I mean, if someone sees everything in black, that person will know they’re colorblind or just not notice the black.
Also, it seems fine to me with different colorblindness types including monochromatic vision.

Young children won't necessary know that they're colorblind if they have never experienced color.

Seeming fine to a single person does not necessarily make it fine for those with visual impairments.

I was saying I don't think they would comment on it being black though:

Also, I mean colorblindness which is what the original post was saying, and I viewed it for different types.

Techincally Scratch Jr. doesn't have a forums feature or a project sharing feature (as far as I know), so that's probably why it seems “dead.” A lot of people who want to use it are probably still using it, so I wouldn't (personally) think of it as dead.

But I agree-it's not like high contrast blocks are a change just to “look good.” It actually has a good purpose.

I don't use ScratchJr, but my eyes are pretty bad visionwise, and I'm sure some people have bad eyes like me too. So this could help a lot of people.
But it would be nice to make it toggleable for people who like the darker format.

I am having trouble understanding this. Clearly “little timmy” has a mental disorder if he is unable to recognize a picture of a house. But what does that have to do with sight?

I mean, what the original poster said isn't really how vision/colorblindness works xD so true
Also, I'm still wondering about this:
Why is this in black ah!!!!!
If there were children who had achromatopsia that used this, that's how they would see color in general, so they wouldn't have commented on this in the first place. They may realize that they're colorblind. Also, it's not exactly black..

I don't know if colorblindness works like this or not, but the OP is trying to imply that all of the buttons would be invisible to see because they would all be gray; however I would think the white outlines would give it away.

I mean, that's not exactly how colorblindness works too. Like people with achromatopsia (black-white colorblindness) can still see different shades:

I am confused still though about the original post. There are icons, and you can tell the difference between everything. Also:
