Report cloud data glitches here
There's an option to make cloud variables that save to the servers in a project. just wanted to know but… whats cloud data?

Cloud history still isn't functioning when the project is reloaded. Don't know what's going on, but it's been going on for a rather long time and left many projects broken. Cloud history IS loading again, however, unlike before; it's just not saving properly.

I'm not sure if the delay rule is still there…
As someone mentioned before 30-50 pages back, there was a delay between the change of the variable and the cloud log showing it.

Cloud variables don't seem to automatically save when set anymore (which may or may not be due to a storage warn depreciation Storage.addWebSource -> addWebStore), unless the project is saved afterwards, which only the owner can do

Yeah, I noticed it too. And I think I know why it's occurring (see above post)

Yes, I'm also seeing the problem where newly created cloud variables ‘lose’ their updated values on a project reload. I first noticed on the 19th Jan, and it's still happening today. Every new cloud variable is affected.
Unfortunately, this seems to be a re-occurring problem.
But ironically, this means there is a known workaround to fix them: rename them
(you can rename them back after, and it seems fine)

(#1751)Also have that. The cloud history is working but the variables don't update. I passed 8 hours to make a leaderboard that will probably not be working for months because of that. Really annoyed.

I can add myself to the users confirming that new cloud variables are now exhibiting the problem noted above – as has happened before, they update in the history log but do not appear to load their current values when restarting the project. In the past, this sometimes occurred with a variable delay up to a few minutes.
I created a New Cloud Click Test Project, similar to my previous one and it exhibits this problem. As stated above, renaming the variables after their initial creation may “fix” them. I have not done so for this project.
Using this test project, you can see that the cloud variable will (or may) actually update when the variable is changed by someone else while the project is open. If you open two copies of the project and change a variable in one, those updates do appear in the other. They just don't load the current value when the project first starts (everyone starts at zero, regardless of what was last recorded to the Cloud). This symptom was also present during past recurring cloud issues.
Interestingly, my Prior Test Project created after the cloud outage last fall still works just fine. My other older projects also appear to be unaffected.

I am also seeing that cloud variables are not accessed from the cloud when a project is reloaded. Cloud history shows the latest values.

According to the cloud monitor, the changes to the value appear, but when you reload the page, the cloud variable aren't grabbing the last value in the log. This may be a problem in the Scratch Website's code or something.

a 71xxxxxxx(older) ID and a 96xxxxxxx(newer) Id doesn't work, but the one in between (91xxxxxxx) works. Maybe cause they fixed around the time 91x projects were created so those work?

No, cloud variables have the reverting issue again (newer projects and older projects). This bug is fixed please close this thread.

Report cloud data glitches here
announcement, we deployed a new version of the Cloud Data server. Most of this is code reorganization, and some performance improvements, so there may be a few glitches in this new version. Please report in this thread if you face any glitches. Remember to include information about your operating system, browser, and a link to your project. As you may seen in today's My cloud data bug
Also, I know that some people have reported slowdown of Cloud variable updates recently. Please report those here as well, especially if you used to get faster speeds, but now Cloud variable updates lag significantly.
[Updated 08/30/2013: Based on your reports, I fixed a bunch of problems. Thanks, and keep more of these reports coming in (still working on the glitches that have been already reported, and are still not fixed). For a list of what changed, check out this forum post: http://scratch.mit.edu/discuss/topic/14722/ ]
Note from Paddle2see - In February of 2018, an update was done to Cloud variables that limits the length of them to 256 characters, as well as a few other restrictions. Please see this post for more information. This should not be reported as a bug. Thanks!
