Make these changes to Scratch Wiki:Blocking:
These bans should only be applied after the user has been notified on their talk page at least once for their malicious behavior actions (and in many cases, multiple times) and continued it anyway, except in egregious cases such as obvious vandalism where the user should be blocked to prevent further damage.

heres sources for test accounts

They are very common, especially among active Scratchers - this piece of information should be removed

Sometimes, test accounts will appear to be the same name as the main account by replacing lowercase “L”s with capital “i”s. - https://scratch.mit.edu/users/aiphabetica/

Often, to avoid publicizing projects unwantedly, users will share contests on their test account instead of their main. - https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/420610591/

Sometimes, test accounts are used to test projects, such as projects using cloud data where people need an test account (with Scratcher status) to test if their project works. - this piece of information should be removed

I’m afraid this might be considered an advertisement for the user who you linked…

I don't have a wiki account myself, however pretty sure before your account is made, you request it and that gets reviewed.

I keep getting this error whenever I try and load up the wiki:

On “Scratch Wiki:Blocking,” in the section “What an appeal should not contain,” can you make the changes:
Legend:
removed
added
  • Rude, disrespectful, or inappropriate language
  • Attempts to sidestep responsibility or shift blame onto others
  • Nitpicking the reasons that led to the ban or any other actions by others
  • Lying or misrepresentation to appear in a more favorable light
  • Attempts to convince Wiki administration to unblock in order to increase chances of becoming unblocked
The reason I want to modify the second line is because this could include accepting blame while also blaming others.
The reason I want to add this line is because users should respect the decision of the Wiki administration if their appeal is denied.

On Scratch Wiki:Unblocking, in section “Other requirements to become unblocked,” can someone please make these changes:
In addition to writing an appeal meeting the above guidelines, users wishing to be unblocked also should do the following:
  • Maintain good behavior on the Scratch Website. This is necessary to show that the user can follow the Community Guidelines.
  • Avoid harassing Wiki administrators or others involved in the ban off-Wiki (such as on the Scratch Website)
  • Only discuss the block via the appeals channel and avoid involving other users or bringing it up on the Scratch Website (appeals sent outside the appeals channel will not be accepted)
  • Avoid attempting to use alternate accounts or requesting more accounts to bypass the block

I don't think that those additions would be necessary. The suggested additions would only clutter an already well written article (they don't add any extra depth/they only restate what has already been said in each bullet).

This is just really a rewording that I don't see as beneficial.

Unnecessary Rewording. The last rule you proposed to be added doesn't really make much sense.

The Scratch Team almost certainly would if it violated the same rules as the original project that was taken down. I would not advice reuploading projects that the Scratch Team has removed because there is a high likelihood that the Scratch Team will issue you a ban. There is usually a good reason for when the ST takes down a project.

The applicable rules here are that any references need to be appropriate and that we should avoid overusing any specific theme too much. Of course, this is all at the discretion of the Experienced Wikians and admins. I'll take a look when I get the chance and make a judgment call.

On Scratch Wiki:Blocking, should we add a section showing some examples of bad appeals and why they violate the appeal guidelines? My idea would be:
Example 1
“I severely vandalized multiple articles on the wiki, such as ‘Ban’ and ‘Account Deletion.’”
This appeal does not provide assurance that the user will refrain from the behavior that lead to the block if they are unblocked.
Example 2
"I edit warred on ‘Finding Direction with Velocity’ and ‘Flame War,’ when the Bold, Revert, Discuss policy did apply. In the future, if someone reverts my edit and I wish to put it back, I will start a discussion.
Also, please do not make blocks for edit-warring if the edits involved in an edit war unless the edit is not vandalism at all."
This appeal nitpicks the block and contains an attempted excuse.
Example 3
"I promise not to be disrespectful towards other editors by maintaining calmness in my actions, so unblock me or (example threat)!"
This appeal contains rude language and also does not describe what the user did wrong.
Example 4
“I have been making a significant amount of constructive edits, so unblock me.”
This appeal does not contain any of the items under “What an appeal should contain.”
Example 5
"This is my first time posting inappropriate content. Regardless, I will not try to do such things again."
This appeal does not show that a user accepts responsibility for their actions and also contains misrepresentation.
