What music are you listening to?
frI don't typically listen to a whole lot of music, but mostly, it's made out of 80s, and 90s songs, along with clean pop and original video game soundtrack music.Never let anyone tell you that video game soundtracks of any generation are not music
Super Mario Bros 3 soundtrack is so relaxing during the gameplay

What music are you listening to?
I would never say video game music isn't real music, a lot of Nintendo music, specifically Mario, Pokemon, and Zelda, have incredibly well composed songs that make my classical music brain go crazyI don't typically listen to a whole lot of music, but mostly, it's made out of 80s, and 90s songs, along with clean pop and original video game soundtrack music.Never let anyone tell you that video game soundtracks of any generation are not music

Now some video game music
I see why people think it isn't music, even if I don't necessarily agree
I'd listen to Undertale, Mario Galaxy, and Pokemon Diamond and Pearl music casually, but a lot of video game music is a lot like movie score in that it's written to accentuate the events of the media and therefore doesn't always work well to just be listened to on its own
Some songs in musicals fall into a similar trap, but to a lesser extent in most cases
But like I'd never listen to the ending of Judas's Death on its own, just like I'd never listen to most songs from Earthbound on their own, even though Earthbound has an amazing game soundtrack
I think that the last two are very valid but I really am not sure at all what you mean by “meaning”I just wish somebody would tell me why they like himto me it’s kinda how much meaning is buried in his songs/he can sound really mad and the song still hits hard
Cause I for one
Just don't get it
or its cause he raps fast, idk
I think his songs are usually very straightforward with their meaning

What music are you listening to?
And if a double-decker bus
Crashes into us
To die by your side
Is such a heavenly way to die
And if a ten ton truck
Kills the both of us
To die by your side
Well, the pleasure, the privilege is min

to be fair this applies to basically most rap. usually the lyrics aren't really heard unless you're actively trying to hear them. Like, now that you spell out the verse it makes perfect sense but I wouldn't exactly say rap is all about the lyrics (as in the actual spoken words).I almost always respect people's opinions of things but I have yet to have anybody who likes Eminem present any valid reason for liking him other than that they need a hiphop beat playing in their ear at every hour of the dayEminemim going to take the pacifist route with this
Who in the world thinks Eminem is a good lyricist or composer
He's a good rapper technique wise, I guess
But rap is all about the lyrics
And if your lyrics are literally horrible
Well
Please explain to me how you can set your lyrics poorly when there's no melody
Rap is all about extending passages by breaking down the rhythms into smaller notes
It's like the most basic thing about writing rap
So how in the world do lyrics like
"To make black music so self-ish-ly
And use it to make my-self wealth-y"
Really like fight me
Come up with one good lyric Eminem has written that can possibly make up for how atrocious that one is
ahdhsuksuw
edit: I didn't say only the beat matters. I personally think the lyrics in the song convey the message perfectly fine but if you prefer songs that are lyrics over background that's totally fine too

The beat can sound cool but it is pretty much the most base form of music
It is a background for the artful part, which is the rhythms, melodies, and lyrics
And, in rap, the flow of the rhythm and how it ties into the lyrics and whatever melody is present are the vehicle for the emotion and meaning in the song
That's just how songwriting works
Good rap exists and good rap has good lyrics

She disappeared across the boardwalk
She keeps the sunset right with movement in her eyes
She knows she gets away with {can't say?}
Swallows up your heart of gold, and I don't know just where we've got to go

Erst wenn die wolken schlafen gehen,
Kann man uns am himmel sehen.
Wir haben angst und sind allein.
Und Gott weiß, ich will kein engel sein.
