The Scratch food emojis are cool, but there are only 8: _waffle_, _taco_, _sushi_, _apple_, _broccoli_, _pizza_, _candycorn_, and _cupcake_.
I think Scratch would benefit from some more food emojis, like _popcorn_, _fries_, _chocolate_, etc.
This would make food-related conversations a lot more fun! I've wanted to use the popcorn emoji countless times, for example, but it doesn't exist. It’s a very useful emoji, actually.

That seems to be the one that they are emphasizing the most, and probably the one that they are mainly suggesting.

Correct. But I do think that more emojis in general would be good

Popcorn especially seems like it would be used a lot more than some of the current emojis – it can be used for snacks as well as carnival or movie-related events.

Support, than you have more options when you talk about food.

adding new emojis wouldnt be one of the scratch team's priorities because it really isnt all that important. they are only used in comments and many scratchers dont even know that they can use emojis. i guess if the scratch team does have time they could add popcorn which has many use cases (watching movies, going to a carnival, the snack in general etc.), and chocolate is a beloved food so many people would want to use a chocolate emoji. however, whats more important for the scratch team to implement are features that greatly benefit the coding experience, the community and the backend of the website, emojis can come later.

True, but ST is always working on improving the coding experience, other stuff has to come eventually. I believe it should be added as soon as possible.

updates that should be added as soon as possible are those that deal with the servers. if your website isnt functioning properly, why bother with other small features when you should fix your website first?

Also true, so I’ll rephrase that:
It should be implemented as soon as convenient, when nothing urgent needs to happen.

No support, no reason to be added and as said above, ST has other priorities and no one actually uses the current ones.
