(#3646)Everything was embedded in their post, including things like the new post controls. It's probably something with unicode characters outside u+ffff, but that normally doesn't have that kind of effect
What did they do?

Somebody rich here should get a good server and host it so that it actually works >50% of the time. ocular will be down for a few hours. lefty is working on scratchdb.
Speaking of, lefty should start chargin or ads.

To be fair this isn't bad for a free, self-hosted service that, honestly, works quite well most of the time (it's been working especially well in past few months too imo). I know ScratchDB uses a heck-ton of storage to store all this data, so the fact that it is being hosted for free courtesy of lefty is pretty amazing. With that, I don't think it's fair to complain, even if our projects break time-to-time when downtime happens/is needed.Somebody rich here should get a good server and host it so that it actually works >50% of the time. ocular will be down for a few hours. lefty is working on scratchdb.

Also, I fail to see how ads would work for a service that has no front-end beyond the docs

I haven't went on Ocular on PC for a long time but, maybe you can put it on the sides of the posts, like other websites that don't exactly fit / use up all the space of their content.… where do the ads go?Google ads buddy Also, I fail to see how ads would work for a service that has no front-end beyond the docs

I was looking at posts with ocular and randomly two of them had the username “PPPDUDjawu11ssfusdeduPPPDUDAntonL1kesPotatojawu11ssfusdeduIceCreamTubjawu11ssfusdedu”
Its the following usernames appended multiple times (all of them exist and have posted on the forums):
PPPDUD
jawu11ssfusdedu
AntonL1kesPotato
IceCreamTub
Also the profile picture was the default one for the two posts.

(#3655)I think this is a ScratchDB bug that happens if someone does a certain glitch that semi-breaks the forum layout (not sure if it works nowadays, but it did a while ago before the forums maintenance).

That makes sense, the usernames are other people in the thread.(#3655)I think this is a ScratchDB bug that happens if someone does a certain glitch that semi-breaks the forum layout (not sure if it works nowadays, but it did a while ago before the forums maintenance).

99% of scratchDB visits are to the api. You can't really put ads there. On the websites buddy,… where do the ads go?Google ads buddy Also, I fail to see how ads would work for a service that has no front-end beyond the docs

1. 99% is probably too low. I wouldn't be suprised if it was 99.99% (1 in 10,000 requests)Why not? that 1% is website99% of scratchDB visits are to the api. 2. 1 page of ads would have to pay for 100-10,000 requests. Google estimates 1 cent per page view (probably with multiple ads per page), so each API call would have to cost less than 0.01 cents (but probably less than 0.0001 cents).
