I'd ask “Why not Gallade?” but it's probably female, plus Dawn Stones are hard to come by and the shiny looks better on Gardevoir in my opinion.

Yeah, it was female and I also think Gardevoir's shiny looks better.

no thanks, part of the point of hunting the shinies is that i'm trying to do it myself. maybe if there's some kind of story behind them (like swapping version exclusives) i'd do it but in general i wouldn't bother trading them

I played sword first but im thinking about buying violet, also im trying to get a gallade in sword and ive already got 3 dawn stones, dawn stones are easier to find in sword.

Half a decade later, I return with actual shiny Pokémon . . . and 30 completely normal Riolu and Lucario from a failed shiny hunt. After playing Pokémon Legends: Arceus for at least a month now, I've caught:

Shiny Ponyta, from a forced story encounter
Shiny Floatzel, from a space-time distortion
Shiny Sudowoodo, from a random encounter while looking for a Bonsly
Shiny Eastern Shellos, from a massive mass outbreak in the Cobalt Coastlands
Shiny Lickitung, from a massive mass outbreak in the Crimson Mirelands
Shiny Bronzor, from a massive mass outbreak in the Alabaster Icelands
Shiny Machop, from . . . I don't remember
Shiny Carnivine, from a random encounter in the Crimson Mirelands
Shiny Machoke, from a Riolu shiny hunt in the Icebound Falls

I don't know why exactly I'm looking for a shiny Riolu; I just discovered that they could be reliably found in Icebound Falls and started hunting the area. I wonder if I'm going to find another shiny in the Machop line before I find a shiny Riolu…
