8-bit animation tool! --> "Anim-8"
Preface:
My question to you is, what else should I add to this? What would make animating easier for you? I'm excited to see what users would want to have as a part of this animation kit, and I feel like having this post active will allow me to explore options and features to add to the project that I would have never otherwise thought of! Please read the pending features section and comment with your opinion of each! Hint: They're purple :3
FEATURES!
*green = implemented
*red = coming soon
*purple = pending audience approval
- Onion skin
- Duplicate last frame
- Expansive color palette
- 8-bit tile cursor
- Powerful animating engine capable of rendering a fully painted frame effortlessly
- Smooth frame transitioning
- User friendly interface
- Seamless animation looping
- Duplicate position handler (makes sure lists don't get over populated, which would otherwise result in corrupt onion skins and poor frame transitioning)
- Clear tile feature (Allows user to clear a tile of all color, and show onion skin for previous frame if applicable)
- Undo feature
- Advanced color control (Brightness, Color, Ghost effect, etc)
- Essential event handlers
- Built in tutorial
- Tool buttons
- FPS control
- Ability to turn animation looping on or off
- Ability to turn onion skin on or off
- Delete frame
- Insert frame
- Frame stepping
- Visualization for frame stepping
- Different color backgrounds for each frame
- Redo feature
- Modded visualization for onion skin to tell previous frames apart from current ones.

I'm working on a project that utilizes 8-bit tile selection in a way that allows users to animate! Complete with onion skin, so you know where you left off on the previous frame, ability to duplicate and continue from the last frame in the newest frame, multiple color selection, a cursor that sets to the current 8-bit tile your mouse is hovering over and flashes periodically in case you're working with dark or light colors, and best of all, you don't even have to run it in turbo mode!
My question to you is, what else should I add to this? What would make animating easier for you? I vote for no looping.
Anything else you'd like to see? You can vote more than once! c:

My votes in green.
- Ability to hide the cursor? (Votes: 0)
- Different color backgrounds for each frame? (Current background is just white, and the onion skin feature clashes with any other color background) (Votes: 0)
- Ability to turn onion skin on or off? (Votes: 0) +1
- Ability to turn animation looping on or off? (Votes: 1) +1
- Redo feature? (Votes: 0)
- Currently, the onion skin works by stamping a lightly ghosted copy of the previous frame. Should I change that? If so, how?
- Music? (What kind?) (Votes: 0)

Whoop! May I ask why you'd want the onion skin off?

This sounds awesome! I hope you can make this work. (Not saying you can't
)
I vote for a switch on looping and the onion skin to turn them on or off. A redo button would be nice.
EDIT: Looks like the looping switch in coming soon now!
Question: Is this similar to my project called DotMation? I can't give you a link because I'm on my phone.
