Automatically edit strings for others to reduce false reporting chances
Say someone wanted to post text where the sole reason the text is too long is because of words with both appropriate and inappropriate meanings. By having my suggestion implemented, they can replace such words with inappropriate synonyms, which will show as their most common appropriate meanings for others when posted, thus allowing them to get away with posting it.However, it benefits more towards the people who uses it in innapropriate ways by giving them a bypass of having the content replaced for other users. Sure, ST can always delete them, but then whats the point in having a filter at all?simply barely not used that way), and “your a female dog” isn't exactly respectful either.I mean, very few people use such words appropriately. This suggestion would people who do so as well. I dont believe any sane person would use the b word as a way of saying “female dog”, (as its
Not to mention this just adds a list of bypasses for people, since anyone using these words would know these words mean their vulgar version, and thus this would simply allow people to use scratch to discuss not very appropriate things (for example, things about the chicken)

I disagree with this idea. I don’t think we should have a thing that changes words like the b-word to “female dog” or whatever. First of all, as many people stated above, I don’t think anyone would use that word with the meaning of “female dog”. Also, in the b-word example you stated, if you used the b-word then it would correct it to “female dog” but as another person stated above it, female dog can also be disrespectful. In addition to that, if someone says a bad word it will just get corrected to some other phrase. In our current system, you can get muted for that. I don’t see a reason in adding this to Scratch. Anyways, if someone wants to say “female dog” they can just say “female dog”. They probably already know the b-word can be used in a different way which would be disrespectful, so they can just avoid using that word, and just say it’s actual meaning. This is my opinion on this.

Imagine that cat has 2 meanings. One of them is a nono meaning and the second one is appropriate. This suggestion would work well for this for now, but what if cat also got another definition, probably slang? Now Scratch would censor this slang with the previous meaning, which could lead to miscommunications. Here's an example.
This guy's using the new slang meaning, but it got replaced.

To anyone saying that they could just update the filter, I'm sure English is This is so small domesticated carnivorous mammal with soft fur, a short snout, and retractable claws!constantly getting new words and new meanings. It would most likely be difficult to keep up with.

Despite the near-unanimously-sided discussion, I'm leaving this topic open as some really interesting discussion can happen here.

correct. for example: in my school. there are uses of the word gyatt and (not gonna spell incase.). but these words have double meanings. gyatt means “rude word for donkey” and other one is a synonym for “m-you get it”. which is bad Imagine that cat has 2 meanings.
