and doesn't cause any harm or annoyance to others.
But creating a blank project does? You can just delete it.
I do not think it is very common that one user would like to go to the homepage or the explore button and would accidentally click “create”. A better use for this pop-up would be if a project would be created with Scratch Cat or without, and then a “cancel” button.

The only possible upside I see is when a scratcher accidently clicks the ‘Create’ button it might inspire them to make a project. So semi-support.

Is the prevention of creating a blank project on accident which wastes time not an upside?

Cons of creating a blank project:
Takes time to load (which if you havn't restarted your computer in a while, can take up to 10+ minutes)
Takes time to delete (Which takes time to load)
Interupts and even wipes your progress if you where playing a game or doing something in a project
Cons of having a popup:
Takes a bit of time to press “no”

If creating a project takes 10 minutes to load, I don't see how a pop-up wouldn't take at least 2 minutes to show up. For me, the process of creating a project and then deleting it takes less than 20 seconds.

Because a popup is local, while creating a new project requires sending packets to the server. While its somwhat sense making for it to take a long time to communicate with the servers (especially with bad wifi), it wouldn't make sense for your computer (which i'd assume HAS a picture display and isn't completely text based, because if it is, then like what) to be unable to draw out a popup that is already stored locally when you loaded into the scratch site

Yes, the scratch servers are very fast, and if it takes 10 minutes to load on your computer, then that meants that your computer is slow.
