Make the Scratch website and editor mobile-friendly
It's up to the ST to determine how exactly it'll be coded; the basic idea is that the block pallette can be expanded, then automatically contracted when a block is picked up.How? It seems a difficult to implement something like that, especially in a web-native applicatoin. That will also be there. The block pallette is collapsible (maybe I should edit the OP to clarify that). There's still nowhere you could put the block, unless you can drag a block and collapse the block pallette at the same time.

I thought the website (or at least 3.0, excluding editor) pages already support mobile?

I have my phone with me at all times and I would never code on it. I might use it for social things (which is already possible and very doable, at least on the phone I have - iPhone 11 so standard phone size) but I would never use it for coding cause coding is already uncomfortable on the go. Coding is a process that has to happen organically, it's really not something that you can just do waiting for a bus or during lunch.I would if I could. There probably is an app that you can code on that's mobile friendly… Swift Playgrounds could be one imo

Swift Playgrounds can NOT be installed on iPhone, actually. And I'll say it yet again, scratch is designed to work on iPads. Nobody has ever had a problem with scratch on an iPad/I have my phone with me at all times and I would never code on it. That is how true development works. Sure, if you're just making a low quality project then yes, you can work on it waiting for a bus or during lunch, but the level of development where not everybody can do it requires thinking, and that thinking is almost certainly not possible outside of home.Coding is a process that has to happen organically, it's really not something that you can just do waiting for a bus or during lunch. That's just your opinion then.

What should the Scratch Team do to make Scratch mobile-friendly?One way that the ST could make Scratch mobile-friendly is by using the mockups I created as a base to make design improvements; CSS media queries are most likely the solution.

(#2)This is why S3 was planned to have an S-JR style horizontal blocks for mobile, but that was scrapped at some point.
It's quite difficult to create an editor for phones. If the current editor is copied and pasted into a phone's mobile editor, it'll be crowded and difficult to use. If everything were scaled down to the phone's dimensions, it would affect the readability of the text and make it hard to grab single blocks. Tablets don't suffer from this issue because they're much bigger than phones.
