I think the profile bell would be good! It would be nice to have it be customizable, so that it could alert you when you favourite scratcher posts a project but no one else.

I've read through basically this whole thread and I disagree with a lot of the points from the no support side. I really really like this idea

The What's Happening page is basically useless when it comes to checking out whether your favorite scratchers have shared new projects. Most of the time they're just loving and faving and things like that, and you can't scroll down more. Even if I was only following like 3 scratchers I might still miss out on their projects. and its hard to remember every day to check on your favorite scratchers to see if they've posted anything. This would be so much easier for me

I don’t think this would get used a lot, because it would clutter people’s messages and annoy them until they decide to turn it off. It also isn’t that hard to just check people’s profiles; and even if you forget the games will most likely still be there once you remember. I don’t think this feature would be useful enough to be worth adding

no support. if you follow them, you obligate to receive messages of what they're doing. also i find it to be a little complicated

I like the idea for the studio one, but for profiles, this has the same affect as following someone, so I see no need in adding it. (working on a new post)

After reading your point, I agree with it now, following isn't always the best way to find out if someone shares a project, especially if they have a lot of other activity. I think that after following someone, you should be able to toggle between “all” notifications and “project shares only” notifications. This way you can only get the most important notifications from a user without compromising the meaning of following them.

I have now started to follow more people and my “what's happening” has been getting quite flooded. So I am starting to see much more that this would be quite useful.

Has anyone even gone through the thread? Because a lot of your points have already been countered.
