I can't save my project! I think I might have added too many sounds but it has never happened b4. Can anyone help me?

Is the project big?

Do a sanity save to your computer using File / Save to your computer from the menus. Always a good first move to make!

Next, check you're still logged in. Open a new tab, open Scratch and check it's logged in. If it isn't, log in and go back to the original tab to save your project. If it won't let you log in then there's probably some Scratch meintenance going on - wait it out and you'll be able to save (or upload your project later from the version you saved to your computer and then save it when the server is up and running again).

If this is to do with asset size then remove the assets you've just added and save the project.

I can't remember the current project/asset limits but they're pretty generous.

I tried that but it still said ‘project can’t save' and it also had a lot of sounds in it but that didn't work either.

Umm… so I was making a game and it would not save so I backpacked everything into another project, and it suddenly saved again.

Try saving the file, and rename the file from “project name.sb3” to “project name.zip”, you might get a warning but you can close that. Now, click into the zip file and check if there's a image/sound that is over 10 MB, if it is, that's the reason why it doesn't save

It has a lot of things in it, and my backpack is already quite full. Is it the wi-fi?

It might give you the option to download. Click that, and it might work

Check the size of your sound files. If a sound file is 10MB or bigger, the project won’t be able to save. Likewise, if the total project data exceeds 50MB or 100MB (I’m not sure which), it won’t save. Try saving the project to your computer and checking the size. Do the same with the sounds.

I think you need to first make sure you are connected to your account and that the project is existing. Then, you can reduce the size of the sounds by going on a safe sound compressor website, such as freeconvert and convertio. If it dosen’t work, try to reduce the size of the sprite in the editor and set the size to a bigger one in the code’s tab. If it still dosen’t want to save, try to simplify the code in the project by maybe reducing the number of sprites in your project. I hope that helped you out of your problem.

Hello there, just for telling you that if my calculations are correct, you have added approximately 846.72 MB to 2.75184 GB sounds, depending on the kbps of your 42 sound files. @NamePending_ is right, and I recommend you to remove some sound files or to compress them.

Oh, have you made sure you logged into your account? This is the most common problem.

-Click green flag (inside of editor)
- Click stop quickly
- Save

If that doesn't work, just download the game to your computer then add it into an empty game.

I have 17 sprites with about 20 - 50 blocks in them and when I add a sprite then save it says I cant save my game is 15.1 mb
