International Cat Day is a legitimate thing. It might not be recognized by a lot of people, but it still would be a nice addition.

On August 8, a project about cats will be featured.

During the week August 8 is in on that year, a studio about cats will be featured.

The studio gives information about cats, and also gives some information like unadapted cats and stuff like that, stuff that’s not depressing enough to make kids really sad, but still somber enough to spark a thought.

Edit: we should also make an announcement in scratch news for cat day on why the cat studio and projects are featured.

If we wanna make it drastic, we could make a new scratch cat sprite in the template library with one of them party cone hats only available during the week of cat day. This doesn’t have to be done though, just a thought I had

April fools day isn’t necessary either (it is necessary), Nor is wiki Wednesday. But we still have them,

I would believe that if ST has the time, this would probably be one of the best choice of holiday to celebrate

Still, good idea. Even if it wouldn't be that big an addition, it would be a fun thing to see. I'm sure a majority of users would enjoy it, or at least not hate it.

The mascot of Scratch is a cat, so cat day would be more related to Scratch than, for instance, April Fools' Day.

I mean it sounds like a good idea considering scratch cat is the mascot but do you think the users will like it?

Anyway, support, Scratch Cat is their mascot.

Unlike most of these holiday suggestions, this one actually makes a lot more sense because the mascot of Scratch is indeed a cat. However, I'm gonna go with “weak support” only if because ICD isn't really celebrated often.

I don't understand Pi Day as well (other than the possible link of Pi -> math -> computer science), but considering Scratch Day is a day for Scratch specifically it would make sense that they would celebrate their own holiday.
