honestly, i think i prefer the harder difficulty of the 3DS version plus I've got more nostalgia for it
I think they're the same difficulty, considering the horse doesn't have to be on your team.
for me the horse hardly activated

also there are a lot of tweeks that make the switch version easier>

I bought it when it came out, and finished the game in less than a year. Mid-2023 I started playing again and reset my data so I could play the story again. No regrets.
