y'know how there's a different page for YouTube that all the links posted in the forums get converted to? it doesn't do that with YouTube shorts

fortunately, there's an easy solution, YouTube shorts can easily be converted to regular videos just by replacing the “shorts/” with “watch?v=” in the url

here's a link to a short that I converted in this way to demonstrate

I'm pretty sure this was a mistake since the system was implemented before shorts existed & hasn't been updated since. Definitely an issue though

actually not a bug, just wasn't expected that people would use shorts URLs on the forums

No support, the reason the special YouTube links exist is so that YouTube can be linked without breaking CG, YouTube short embeds include the comments button meaning even if they added a special page for them it would still break the CG

you can literally just replace /shorts/ with /watch?v= and it functions completely fine

I ment on the actual YouTube website sorry, I think it has to do with my district blocking comments making the button still show just as disabled

this is just a way to fix it for the shorts links in the forums, it should've been obvious that it wouldn't be enacted elsewhere
