I think this topic is separate from the “Anime/Manga/Other” topic. Astro Boy began as a manga by Osamu Tezuka. This manga has had multiple adaptations, my favorite being the 1980 Cartoon. So… discuss!

I recommend you to check out the 80's anime. It's better than the movie.

Heh, I wondered why nobody knew it :3
I liked the 2003 adaption/anime whatever, I hope that there's a sequel to it.

Fun fact. At one point, Osamu Tezuka (the creator Astro Boy) wanted to make a remake of the original series in the late 70's. But because of issues involving rights on the series, he had to remake the whole “Pinocchio inspired robot kid” idea with a new cast of characters and everything. And that resulted with the making of Jetter Mars. It has a lot of connections with the original Astro Boy series with some of the original characters making cameos. Including a statue of Astro Boy himself appearing at one point.

Astro boy is the most epic awesome show I've ever seen! (Besides Sgt. Frog and etc..) But here's the question which version is BETTER? Obviously- well maybe… -I think… what do YOU think?
