depends on the cat and how they do it.
if the cat is actually smart, of course they'll be able to hide the crime better and be able tot hide it better. i think that if a cat is smart enough, they can hide it for their whole lives. how they physically react to the death also greatly affects that. if they act unaffected, there must be some suspicions. Motive also affects how the act mentally and physically in some cases to it. In the first arc I'm pretty sure she has feelings for Firepaw but it's less obvious.

Some youtuber made an animation where Firestar “cheated” on Sandstorm. And all the she-cats who were important in his life come to yell at him. It even portrays spottedleaf as innocent. It's horrible that someone would create that because they got cheated on. If you need to make a vent use your own ocs! don't ruin cannon relationships! Also it completely ignored that Spottedleaf is a disgusting fox-heart who like kittens, she should go to the dark forest! It's not Firestar's fault he still has feelings for Spottedleaf you can't exactly make feeling magically poof into nothing! Anyways I don't support that youtuber anymore.

So someone(not naming names) created a animation using first burn about firestar and sandstorm and all the important females in Firestar's life being disappointed in him because he “cheated” on Sandstorm with Spottedleaf. The person made this because they were cheated on. I'm just going to say this once: If you have something traumatic happen to you like being cheated on do NOT use cannon characters, use your ocs or persona. Instead of ruining a cannon relationship. Especially if you don't say that it's an alternate universe. Also it shows Spottedleaf and Sandstorm being the victims, when in reality its Spottedleaf's fault. She stalked Firestar in his dreams she had a crush on a KITTEN. Spottedleaf should go to the dark forest for being so disgusting. Firestar didn't do anything. It's not like he could choose to stop Spottedleaf appearing in his dreams. And stop saying he shouldn't still have feelings for her. Feelings for someone don't just disappear! I don't remember there being any indication of her liking him as anything other than a clanmate. She was simply one of the first cats to treat him kindly. there was no romantic or sexual behavior in her actions when she was alive. Her caring for him wasn't romantic, it was platonic, and medicine cats need to treat there patients/clanmates with kindness to earn trust as the clan's backbone.

she was born before Bluestar was even leader and Bluestar had 3 lives left after the rat attack so Spottedleaf is basically to old to be mates with Firestar
