Fine then what if someone uses a tag that isn’t vaild

I think not allowing the user to post the reply until after they close all tags would make more sense, as it would help to teach them to close tags.

I think it would be better if it auto closed it would probably be more work to do that than to auto close them

Another idea I had was the /quote tag would also automatically close all previous tags

This is already being suggested on this topic.

My opinions on this suggestion, though, are different than the ones I expressed on the original topic back in 2021 when I still used the support convention and made very cringy posts. This is a programming site, and it would probably be valuable to teach users that tags do not close themselves.
