Maybe because the user guide is literally called “Boot Camp Assistant User Guide”? The difference is that Apple's user guide heavily relies on their Boot Camp and doesn't even have a single word about, say, VirtualBox (unlike Microsoft's article, which flat out mentions running Linux bare-metal)
