My browser / operating system: MacOS Macintosh X 10.15.6, Chrome 84.0.4147.105, No Flash version detected

Making clones. I expected to be able to make hundreds of clones, but can only make 9 clones of one sprite.

After making 9 clones of one sprite, all other clone making stops working.

Are there any other scripts that are cloning?
I'd recommend sharing the project so we all can see.
Make sure all of your “when I start as a clone” scripts have this block at the bottom:

delete this clone

We figured that when we use “create clone of myself” that the sprite and all of its clones are cloned.

That means when you multiply each set by 2 you do that 9 times before you get 300 clones.

Clone 1 sprite = 2 total
Clone 2 sprites = 4 total
8 total
16 total
32 total
64 total
128 total
256 total
300 total (max clones)

False. You can only make 300 clones maximum per project. That's it. No more than 300. It's not per sprite, it's per entire project.

I don't think so. You can only make 300 clones in total. After that, you can't go over. Try cloning 300 times on a sprite, and 300 on another. The second sprite will not produce any more clones.

Make a new topic in Help with Scripts, and send the link to the project. Your clones could be running code under when hat blocks.
The clone limit should be 301, not 10.

Okay, I was so confused because I tested it after I saw your reply and it was 301. Turns out one of my browser extensions increased the limit by 1, making the clone limit 301 again.

I am trying to make a project but I can only have 10 clones of my sprite. People are saying you can get 300, can anyone help me figure out how to get 300?

Can you send the link to the project to see if your code is causing it?
Also, it's 300 for the entire project.
