I have a question that might be useless but…


What´s the name of TTS voices in Scratch?


The voices are,alto,tenor,squeak,giant and kitten (which is different in which it says meow meow meow when saying the text you sent.)

They don’t have names other than those provided

Squeak, Giant and kitten are modifications of Tenor (kitten is just gonna say “meow” each word via squeak, but with a bit more pitch affect, listen closely)
All of them are in collab (so you should probably search) with Amazon Web Services. (though tis obvious)
that's all I know.

They really don't have nicknames, however they have the names given.

When i mean “name” it doesnt mean nickname.

Alto is also a modified version of Tenor or the other way around, no way to tell unless we are told which one was made first lol

I don't think so - compare Alto's hello permalink to Tenor's permalink. There's more change there than just a pitch difference.

I do not own an AWS account so i can't test it. Could someone who does test this voices?

The VOICE_INFO function shows that Alto and Tenor are the female and male voices, that Squeak and Kitten are the female voice pitched up, and that Giant is the male voice pitched down.
However, the code makes no references to any voice names within Amazon, instead just referring to Scratch's server, which I couldn't find any code for - it's probably handled within Amazon's dashboard somehow.

If you want this so you can use the correct names for the characters in your projects, then you can just use anything you'd like - there are no restrictions on how to name things.

Scratch never gave any of the Amazon voices names, except for “giant” and “kitten” which were made by Scratch anyways
