How is kissing inappropriate?

Parents kiss, people on TV kiss, lots of people kiss so how is it inappropriate for scratch.

This is more of a subjective question, but since most parents don't let young children watch kissing-on-lips scenes, Scratch has taken the easier route of just banning said content

There's something to know: In Scratch, romantic content had always been a gray area; it is a spectrum of some romantic scenes from being iffy to something that is unanimously not allowed to be shared on a kid's site.

A kiss on the cheek is considered intimate, but kissing lip-to-lip is even more intimate to the point that there are some obvious sexual innuendos in it. One can argue that is not considered appropriate to show that content to kids, who may be still learning about social norms. Another person may be more lenient, saying that kids to a certain age are allowed to see “mild” romantic content.

…this gets iffy. Yes, as water mushroom said, children don't kiss however I was exposed to the concept via my parents when I was like 10 so

Second,
-most parents don’t allow their kids to see kissing so they might ban kids from going here if they saw kissing here

Some parents don't want their kids to see people kissing ( and it's also kinda weird :/ ) so the ST decided that it's best to prevent users from making these projects.

… Or maybe they won't until they reach the age where they are allowed. Most kids watch an adult movie once they turn 17 or 18, but that doesn't mean such movies should be allowed because kids will see them anyway. The type of kissing banned on this platform has less to do with the action itself, but more with the underlying meaning/innuendos

I think its inappropriate because its like romantic relationships and scratch doesn't want that I'm pretty sure I can be wrong

It could very well be considered inappropriate by moral guardians who don’t want their kids getting into this stuff, and tends to invoke major squick factor in some kids.

The only real exception to the No kissy kiss rule is a quick peck on the cheek. That’s about it. Hugging is fine and so is mentioning that two characters are dating (not people though, ODing isn’t allowed), so you don’t have to worry about that.

might as well allow blood, swearing, guns, etc since kids will see it anyway
