How does the SDS work?

Hello everyone! Im Audrey and I’m here today to show you how the SDS works a bit more in depth… let’s begin shall we?

The first thing you need to know is you won’t get into the SDS on demand, I’ve seen a lot of confusion on this so I just wanted to make it clear that asking will NOT make you a curator.

If I can’t get in by asking how do I get in? You might be asking so let me tell you. Being part of the SDS takes a lot of hard work and time. To become a SDS helper, you need to: help people in the SDS, leave reviews (once someone post there link in the comments, check out the project and reply to them with a short review, give them some positive things and a area where they can improve, this would be kinder than just saying the thing you want them to change), make sure a project fits the SDS theme, make sure it follows the rules of the current SDS (remeber that the rules change, don’t read the rules for one SDS and think there the same for all the others!). That can help you become a helper in the SDS. Now I’ll list you some pros and cons of being in the SDS

Pros:
Friends
Helping the community
Life skills (kindness, politeness, respect, etc)
Becoming a huge part of scratch!

Cons:
Toxicity for helpers
Time consuming
Long explanation’s sometimes

Now that you know that you need to know some Do’s and Dont’s of the SDS

Do:
Make friends
Talk about the current SDS
Make suggestion for future SDS
Invite others to make SDS projects

Dont:
Be toxic
Complain about theme
Add unrelated stuff to get popular
Suggest a theme if you know you can put one of your project in it so you can get popular

Those are some basic Do’s and Dont’s of the SDS now that you know that, you can start helping with the SDS and becoming a part of it.

Scratch on!

How does the SDS work?

Hello! It's great that you want to help out other Scratchers. However, I think we have enough guides in the forums at the moment. Please feel free to welcome new Scratchers on the group welcoming topic or on individual topics created by New Scratchers.

Other places that can always use more helpful Scratchers like you, are the "Help With Scripts“ and ”Questions About Scratch" areas - please use them as designed, by responding to topics created by folks with problems to solve

Finally, a really good place for Scratch guides is the Scratch Wiki - check it out and see if it's something you might like to work on. They have a number of guides - and great organization.
