As others have said, this would be good if it was an April fools exclusive one

Trollface is protected by copyright, but is not trademarked.
Meaning it can be used for non-commerical purposes (basically yes it can be an emoji)

Considering that I saw trollface make an appearance in doors, so it can definitely be an emoji.

Copyrights and stuff + this could be seen as condoning trolling (which the ST doesn't want to happen), just like the nerd emoji

My point exactly. Do we really want to promote trolling?

I see your point, because in the past, people used to use troll face text art and promoting the troll face as a meme in their projects, which is a considered a form of trolling and promotes it entirely.

Those two emojis that you’re talking about are totally different however, as nerd isn’t used for trolling and it’s most of the time used in a formal context. Although, it was used to reference the goofy meme before, so that sorta defeats the purpose of adding it.

name one time the nerd emoji was used in a formal context, most people just use it to make fun of people who correct other people

I… yep, you got me there actually. I got nothing to say about that. Also, not worth adding for time and effort.

Dude, they're not rebuilding ChatGPT from scratch ( pun not intended ), it's just replacing a string of characters with a PNG that they didn't even make themselves, saving the time to design such emoji. It probably takes 2 days at most, correct me if I'm wrong.

It should take even less time tham that, the problem is getting the ST to agree to add an emoji with a not necessarily well-intentioned meaning.

Isn't this emoji typically used for trolling? It would really only have one use. Almost all of the other emojis on the website have at least more than one use: they're common and many people know what they're for. What about people who don't know what the trollface is? Compare that to something like the smiley face. It's an emoji on Scratch that can be used in a lot of different cases.

Okay I get Scratch might not be the best place for the troll emoji but:

Major platforms allow people to use troll emojis, yet they don't condone trolling

If you don't know what an emoji means, don't use it. There are probably people who don't understand other Scratch emojis either, like the upside down cat face. Yet they still exist

uh, hey, so uh… the trollface has a slightly inappropriate origin, maybe don't put that on here in case someone gets curious about the origin
if you really need to use a trolling related emoji just make the Pico emoji permanent

It's generally to convey the expression that you did something that wasn't directly asked of you

Like
my mom told me to unload the dishwasher so I proceeded to unload the fridge

And it doesn't have to mean something was literally asked for you to do

To express an emotion, like every other emoji. In this case, it's smugness.

Rickrolling's origins are very closely linked to the Trollface's yet Scratch doesn't denounce it as the literal announcements directory has an hyperlink titled Scratch Teams' policy on Rickrolling which is, not even joking, a rickroll itself.

Yeah well, that's the point of literally every suggestion. Convincing the ST.
