Why is “goofy ahh” blocked when “lmao” isn’t?

The “ahh” in “goofy ahh” means the same word as the a in “lmao”. The Scratch Team has specifically stated that they’re not going to be blocking lmao. But why is “goofy ahh” blocked then? The ahh is a replacement for the same blocked word in lmao

Is it because “goofy ahh” tends to be used in rude/mocking contexts, when lmao is usually to say something is funny?

Yes, and also because “lmao” is not quite the same as “goofy ahh”. “lmao” is an acronym that is almost never discussed, just used. On the other hand, “ahh” is a censored version of a swear word.

I would assume that is the case, although “goofy” alone acts as a good replacement that conveys the same meaning

Thing is I don’t think most people saying “goofy ahh” are even aware that the “ahh” is a replacement for a bad word. So they don’t realize they’re technically swearing, and then they get muted for something they didn’t know was a “swear”

Though the a could stand for other words, like “laughing my arm off”.
Something I say is that text speech sort of has its own meaning now. While the letters might stand for something, they have their own meanings at the same time. Like while OMG stands for “oh my God” it doesn’t necessarily mean you’re “using the lord’s name in vain” (a Minecraft server I was in banned the phrase OMG since it’s breaking a commandment even though OMG really has its own meaning…)

While you ARE correct in that both TECHNICALLY have censored swear words in it, one form of censoring is way less obvious than the other.

Because the scratch team flips a coin to see whether or not they're gonna ban a word/phrase, and for some reason some geniuses decided it would be a great idea to allow LMAO to be uncensored, where “a” as the same meaning as “ahh”
